Fourteen miles of narrow island known as the Tourist Zone, or “Zona Hotelera” is the hotspot of Cancun. Gorgeous Caribbean coastline, luxurious hotels and condominiums, and miles of sandy beaches provide all of the amenities necessary for sightseeing fun.

Laguna Nichuptй, a large lagoon, is located on the inland side of the island. In addition to shopping malls, the area features several marinas and lots of water activities. An eclectic medley of restaurants provides fine dining especially in the island’s “Party Zone.” Located in the thick of it, the “Party Zone” is the place to go for a night of music, dancing, and socializing. This area also includes a few well-preserved archeological sites that offer bilingual tours, including the Ruinas El Rey.

Cancun City is a bit quieter than the Tourist Zone, but it is just as entertaining. A variety of terrific restaurants featuring mouth-watering cuisine sit in this peaceful location along with modern stores that offer reasonable prices.

The water lover will simply never want to leave Cancun with its reputation for excellent sport fishing, diving spots, and snorkeling opportunities. The waters of the Caribbean are well-known for their crystal clarity and their underwater national parks. Deep sea fishing includes opportunities to snag marlin, sailfish, bluefin tuna, wahoo, grouper, or dorado.

A trip to the beach includes more than just a day in the sand. Vendors offer visitors the chance to enjoy jet skis, banana rides, and small watercraft. Scuba diving is featured at the nearby islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres. For those of you who prefer something a bit tamer when it comes to water sports, you can stick with swimming or visit the water park located nearby Punta Nizъc.

Other activities to enjoy include golf, tennis, hiking, biking, motorcycling, and exploring nearby sights such as the Botany Park or the alligator farm. Visitors in Cancun can always find something to do simply because there is so much to do.
